i think u can use it to root just not flash SPRecovery or ROMs

I found it and downloaded it, went to use it and it said I needed the updated version. Clicked install and it opened up a new one located in the market. Downloaded it and it kept saying download unsuccessful...

Where does it go wrong?
I had the same problem with my droid for at least 4 months.
This is what worked for me
Setup ADB on Windows (USB Driver v3 from SDK r7) - Droid X Support/General - AllDroid Public Board - Setup ADB on Windows (USB Driver v3 from SDK r7) - Droid X Support/General - AllDroid Public Board - AllDroid.org > Home
