Help DNA USB port starting to fail

The USB port on my DNA is starting to fail. I have to be careful when I plug it in to make sure it starts charging and I can't get a stable connection to the PC anymore. I have the extended warranty and I wonder if this port problem would be covered? I'll have to call them of course, but I wonder if others have had this problem and how they've dealt with it?

Never had the problem on a phone. Had it many times on a laptop. It seems to hold up on a laptop until after the warranty is up. (That's why there are so many companies that do nothing but charging jack repairs on laptops.)
