Help Do androids get "moody"?

Hello there, don't know if this happens to anyone else's Desire HD, but mine gets a bit SLUGGISH sometimes, e.g.: accelerometer while texting...makes u wait, flipping the spaces..makes u wait, going to all apps...uu get the pic.

I noticed it was more sluggish and slow when i used the app killer often, that was before i read some articles here not to use app killers to kill everything.

its more responsive now, tho, esp with messages, things seem a bit sluggish still.

appreciate any help... masters.

Hello HunterWasser, welcome to the forums.

You were wise to rid your device of the task killer; good first step in optimizing performance.

I'd suggest analysing your syncing and background updating apps/widgets, along with running services. The phones with the longest battery life and quickest response time are those which are trimmed to manually sync Gmail, Facebook, Weather widgets, etc, rather than autosync.

In menu > settings > applications you'll see, "running services." Have a look in there. You'll see a list of programs that are active, some of which you can decide to stop just by clicking them. Be careful, though, because you don't want to disable those that you truly need. Also be aware that they'll restart the next time you turn off your phone then turn it back on, so you'll have to go in and stop them again.

Also, be sure to back out of apps, with the back key, you use rather than just hitting the home key, as you'll be leaving that app running even though it is not on the screen if you don't back out. Be your own app killer. ;)

Thanks for the useful info Frisco, guess its really a share of the androids mind eh?
will just take a closer look at what it is im gonna stop. "weather" will be one i think...not that accurate.
htc sense too till i register.

At "battery use" i was surprised to see that the "display" eats most of the share of the batt, well, that and android os...and thats at setting the brightness at around 30%.

Must say half the fun of this fone, is figuring out new stuff.

cheers!

BTW, i haven't killed the advanced task killer. its just there in the menu... (sales/tech dude put it there and i used it only a couple of times until i read the articles as something didn't make sense)

is it advisable to delete it completely?

appreciate ur thots.

Yes, Get rid of it, A few people will say keep it but the majority of DHD owners agree that you're better off without one, I don't use one. It kills apps then android starts them back up again, it kills them again and again android starts them back up and so on and so on, Android knows what it is doing and the app killer is just making it's job harder.

thanks cracksquirrel, will laugh at it mockingly before i do.

there must be a conspiracy among certain tech/sales dudes in stores the world over who are secretly agents of a diabolical giant App Killer Robot. got nuthin against nobody, but who doesn't love a conspiracy theory?
