Help Do I have to tolerate 1 dead pixel ?

I think it comes down to the individual. One dead pixel, or even a couple of dead pixels will annoy or affect people to varying amounts. A lot of people will be of the opinion that a top of the range handset should be faultless while others will accept that "these things happen".

Dead pixel problems often remind me of dust under the screen problems which phones such as the HTC Desire have suffered from in the past.

I think If my device would be 1 year old already I wouldn't worry about it at all, but now when it's only 3 weeks in my hands I think I will ask for replacement or display change.

My carrier will send me a new S2 soon. As I can't replace it more that 3 times, if my next one is not perfect, I'll ask for a refund, and will stick to my 3 years old phone !!

I had one dead pixel on my SG2 as well. It took me 24hrs or so to notice it, but when I did it drove me mad and it became the only thing that I noticed on a white background.

I decided after a week of having the phone that I wasnt happy with it and for a top of the range phone it should be perfect so I called up T-Mobile, who I bought it from, told them I wasnt happy with it and they sent me a new one the following day.

I too was concerned about getting a replacement that may have a bigger fault, but a couple of months on this one is great.

Here is solution for my dead pixels (solid green).
Try strike gently the dead pixels with your fingernail with incremented force. This procedure fixed my screen.
