Accessories Do I need a case and screen protector?

I certainly want to treat my new Epic well but am not sure what accessories are a neccesity.

Personally, I like the look of the phone naked but I've been told that some kind of case is important to avoid scratches and if I drop it. That's great but the phone is already pretty huge so i don't want anything to make it more bulky. I also don't want to do a belt clip since those just look idiotic (no offense to anyone who likes them).

As for the screen protector, a big part of the reason I bought the phone was for the SAMOLED screen so I'm not crazy about diminishing it with a screen protector but I also don't want it to get scratched and it is going to be spending a lot of time in my pocket.

Thoughts? Reccomendations?
 
Phantom Skinz screen protector - best I've used, as good as naked, but protects from scratches. Well worth it. I don't use a case but I use the entire phantom skinz for my phone.

I suggest the matte skin set, that's what I use. You get 2 clear screen protector and 2 matte screen protectors. I use the clear for the screen, matte for everything else.
 
Cases absorb shock and minor scratches and scuffs, but the biggest draw for me is the protective lip around the camera lens (since the Epic doens't provide much protection for the lens, itself. With a case on, the lens never touches the table surface, so if i push the phone around the table, I won't be afraid that I'll scratch the lense.

There is a body glove case with a kickstand included in the belt clamp.
