So im currently running cm7 rom and my android version is now 2.3.7 if I want to put a 2.2.1 rom do i have to downgrade then put it or can I just boot recovery and install it? Thanks in advance I'm new to all this

If its downgrade to stock rom. Then yea use the downgrade method. If your on 2.3.7 and want like kelsomod on 2.2.1 just wipe and flash and your good to go.

Yes. As long as you wipe before installing new roms then yes. If you want to get back to the stock rom the phone comes with. Then that's when you'd need to downgrade.
