ive been trying for 2 days to get my calendar working again. the stock calendar disappeared from my phone. did a restore with TIB. it works ,but now every time i reboot, its gone again-just the android icon labelled 'loading'. ive tried going to the apk in system/data to reinstall. all i get from there is 'not installed'. can i re-install it from the apk? how is that done? my phone is rooted-lg escape. it seems like this needs to be on your phone for any other calendars to work. i dont know how a reset will affect my phone. will i lose root?

Unfortunately this is out of the scope for this area of the forums. The best place to get help with this is over in the All Things Root section that is dedicated to your particular device. Others with the same phone as you that are rooted can better assist you there.

there isnt much that happens there. i more want to know if i can reinstall from apk on my phone-and how to do it.thanx

So youre trying to install it in /system? Make sure the file explorer youre using has been set to read/write (R/W) in root partitions. Im most file explorers, just tapping the apk should prompt you to install it. What explorer u usin mate?
Factory reset ONLY resets the Data (user) partition so no you WONT lose root (but then again, you wont change anything in /system
