Root Do I need to unroot?

I just went through the whole trade in process with my eris and i was wondering if i need to unroot before i send it back in. I really dont think they will look that deep into it but i have no idea what they do with them so if anyone can help me out that would be awsome.

So all I do is flash that like a regular rom and it 5akes care of everything?

Yes. I'd do the one without the radio myself. After you restart the phone with the new ROM, you may want to do a factory reset before you bring it back. Settings->Privacy settings, there is (I think) a factory reset option there.

More or less.

If you are turning in the SD card with the phone, you should (back it up and then) wipe the SD card - the FlashBack21 ROM doesn't do that.

It also doesn't touch the bootloader; but since you are asking the question, I will assume you didn't fool with the bootloader on the phone.

If a computer forensics investigator looked at the phone, there are ways that they could determine whether it (or any Eris) was previously rooted - but nobody at VZW or HTC is going to "go all CSI" on your phone.

I just tried that with my Droid Eris But i keep getting an error when i try to flash the rom. I keep getting Corrupt file: system/lib/libcid.so Am i doing something wrong? I was previously using Kaos 37 and now i can't seem to flash any rom now. Any suggestions?

Uh-Oh.

I suspect that what you have going on has nothing to do with the ROM.

You are not using ROM Manager/ClockworkMod are you?

PS - At what exact point do you see the error - (what are the couple of lines immediately before and immediately after you see that error message?)
