Root Do I need to wipe anything before restoring a nandroid?

Seems like someone told me no before, but I can't recall. Does wiping before restoring do anything or is it just needless wiping?

It never hurts to wipe cache and dalvik.

fwiw, i never wipe anything when doing a nandroid. never had any problems doing it. but if it makes you feel any better, it wont hurt anything if you do

It use RZR and it explicitly says it is wiping each partition before it restores it.

I wipe data, cache, and dalvik all the time. Just a habit plus it doesn't hurt.

makes no difference, look what it says in recovery when u restore a nandroid-- "clearing cache, clear boot img" etc, everything is written into the code
