No way this could have happened, but it did. I received my phone Tuesday on my way out the door for a trip to St Louis. Decided I would get a case and shield when I got back in town. I arrived home today about 3, dropped off my gear at the house and promptly started the door to go to verizon. I noticed a weed growing in the flowers at the side of the house bent over to pick it and the phone slide out of my shirt pocket and landed on the sidewalk screen side down! Glass is completely destroyed!!!!!

Reminds of an old saying:
"Whether or not a Smartphone will fall to the ground face first is directly proportion to the cost of the phone." This is also increased by the factor of "no protective case installed".

Replacement is on its way from insurance dudes.

Look on the bright side... there's a pretty good chance the insurance company doesn't have any refurbished units yet. You may get a new one.

I never thought it would turn into an affront to my style, I cant afford new clothes. I keep boying new phones. I actually had to fill out and fax an affidavit swearing I was telling the truth and not trying to over through the government with a nefarious plot using ill gotten cell phones from my insurance.

That's impossible to drop a phone and crack the whole screen. Are you 7 feet tall, joking. HTC really put some crappy glass on the incredible.

WOw, at least you were insured. Yesterday, I just dropped my iPhone while getting out of my car for the first time. Good thing my car is low. It landed face first onto the pavement, but I do have a protective case on it, so it's perfectly fine.

It makes me question the durability of this phone. Gotta admit the iPhone is pretty darn sturdy.

How far was the fall may I ask?

fall was between 2 or 3 feet. I was wondering if the entire front was glass. I took the path less followed to find out.

Geez, that looks pretty bad from just a drop at chest level (assuming your shirt pocket is one of those corner chest ones?). I've dropped my Dare from similar heights and that thing took it like a trooper, and all I got was just a small scratch.

Wow that is horrible, i fiqured this was as strong as my eris was I dropped that thing so many times from all sorts of crazy heights and angels. That is really making me think of getting a full case like an ottor box or something / Phone looks like it had a 50lbs dumbell dropped on it from 5 feetup
