Not gonna lie, that's pretty nuts. Hope the replacement comes in soon! Also, I totally second what whiskeyguy said earlier - doubtful there's refurbs so you should just be getting a new one. hehe
 
You sure it just fell and you did not step on it after it dropped?
Sorry just had to ask. It sucks but I hope you get your replacement soon.
 
I dropped mine at Disneyland yesterday, I'm about 6'5 and had it in hand when I ran into something (cause I was playing on my new phone) it flew out of my hand hit the wall then down on the cement face down on the bumpy Indiana Jones cement flooring. No case, no screen protector, and it had no scratches on it at all, no dents, nothing! Took the fall like a champ, nice job HTC!

On a side note, my Inc now has a full case and screen protector. I don't want to risk it again lol.

nope, my daughter beat you to it, got the phones around 2pm wed and 10am thru she dropped it out of her purse at school and broke the screen.. went online at asurion to complete the claim and the phone wasnt in their system yet so i called them and the lady said they had to add it in there and would take 24-48 hours

question for you, on my claim they have the phone listed an audiovox incredible and swear its the same phone even though i couldnt make them understand htc made the phone not audiovox.. was your claim listed the same way?
 
Novecove, yes the claim said audiovox. I was so disturbed by this the I called the one and they said many of the HTC phones show up as audiovox in their system.
 
I did the same thing today. I've been having tons of fun with this phone for 2 whole days and then I hop up to a curb and the thing flies out of my pocket, goes from chest level to the concrete and the screen shatters! What a bummer.

I do have insurance, but the lady at Verizon told me Asurion will charge $90 deductible... that doesn't seem like great insurance to me...

Anyway, I'm filling out the claim online and also noticed they have it listed as an Audiovox Incredible, so thanks for clearing that up in this thread.

What would you guys suggest for screen protectors and/or cases once my new one arrives?

I dropped none cannot a scratch. I think the conditions must have been just right. Maybe even hit a stone or a pebble just right and made it fail then shatter at a weak point.

I was going to keep my phone naked like my Eris but after seeing these pics I got a case and screen protector.
 
i dropped my incredible from about 3 feet high screen down on hard ceramic tile floor the day after I got it, not a scratch on it. You must have dropped it just right
 
So, I was just sitting here toying with the idea of getting phone insurance and I think you just decided for me! Sorry to hear about your phone, glad you had insurance!
 
As screens get larger I think it's going to be more common to see screens breaking from short falls. I wish they would start using gorilla glass for these phones.

Chill on the shirts with pockets coments. LOL My dress shirts for work have pockets and I have done the same thing while in a hurry before. LOL

I hope OtterBox makes a case soon!!!

Oh man, I've done that exact thing with a phone before, put it in your breast pocket, bend over and out she goes. Except when I did it, it landed in one of Bill Gate's hot tubs. Shit you not. lol True story.:eek:
