Do Not Buy an HTC Incredible 2

Man my main complaint is I have had 5 phones in 6 weeks... You deal with that and see if you want the phone any more

Just curious, but what were the issues you had. I was warned not to get a certified like new because they are horrible and fail alot. My Inc2 is a CLN and I've had it for 3 months with the only real issue being that the clock/weather widget not showing location for a few days to a week every so often. But I've had that same issue on every HTC phone I've had. I'm not saying that you didn't have issues, but just curious as to what they were as 5 in 6 weeks is horrible.

This discussion (rant) is pretty useless and tiring. Most here are very satisfied with the INC2. If you don't like the phone, buy another! I remember similar complaints about the INC1. I have owned both INC and INC2 with no significant issues; and have learned how to use the phone to meet my needs. There are no perfect smartphones and tradeoffs with all. Time to move on.

I guess you take the 'Ford' emblems off your car, too ? Like I said - you can ignore the bloatware. Do you keep their icons on your home screen to remind you they're there? All the apps I use are kept in folders on my home screens, so I don't even open my apps tray - I couldn't even name you the bloaware apps because I never see them.

My last phone, an Eris, had almost no bloatware at all. I thought that was great until I realized why - the device had very limited internal space to store apps. I'd much rather have this device where space is not an issue. I can ignore the bloatware.
Are you being serious or messing with me? If I followed your analogy like you think, I'd be removing the HTC logo, not the bloat. Here's a correct analogy so pay attention carefully. The ford emblem is to the HTC logo, and the bloat is to the dealer logo that comes on cars. And you bet your ass I remove those.

I had 2 broken charging ports 1 battery port break and one just out right didn't work... And I am on my 5th one now

Well that does suck, but is this one working? If so, why pay a $300+ ETF and then pay another $200 for another phone that may have issues of it's own? With T-Mobiles uncertain future going there could be a mistake, and I recall reading recently that the Evo3D was having black screen of death issues. The Evo3D & Sensation are both HTC phones, so I assume you still like HTC.

If that's the case why not look into the Vigor when it comes out? It's rumored specs put it ahead of the both in almost all aspects (except the 3D thing). You could sell your Inc2 and buy a Vigor outright and still come out money ahead. Or with the GalaxyS2 supposedly dropping soon you could give them a go. To me it's a waste of money to pay the ETF if the problems are just the phone. And if you've been grandfathered in on unlimited data, you'll lose that if you ever decide to come back to Verizon.

Not telling you what to do or anything, but just saying that there are other options rather than throwing money away on an ETF.

I am not paying the ETF so I don't have to worry about that

So they're letting you out or you're just refusing to pay it?

I understand if you're ticked because of the issues you've had but maybe give them a chance to make it right. At the very least they should offer to switch you to a different phone. But if you are just refusing to pay it, that will end up on your credit, and the unrecovered costs end up getting passed on to everyone. Plus when going to another carrier, they look at stuff like that and may require a deposit, which can be anywhere from $150-$400. Just something to keep in mind. Good luck.

Yeah for now I have had it for 3 day's

Ok so why are you still ending your contract? It seems Verizon has held up their end of the deal, replacing your phone when it needed to be replaced. If this one is working I'd wait until the phone has issues & then look at jumping ship. I understand it was a hassle for you, but it's not their fault that you got some lemons, and they have tried to make it right. If anything it's HTC's fault, but the phones you are looking to go to are made by them as well, so I guess I just don't see where you're going with this.

Ha ha sorry, but you sound like a deaprate vzw. Worker trying to get me to stay

Far from it. If they do something wrong I'll be the first to call them on it. To me you sound like someine who has buyers remorse and since the Inc2 has come out you see all of the new stuff on the horizon and wish you would've waited. I'm not belittling the problems you have had, but am I wrong in what I said about them treating you fairly? You had issues and they replaced the phone, multiple times. If anything after the 3rd or 4th phone they should've given you the option of going to another phone.

But look at it from their perspective. They've had to eat the cost of 4 phones. Not your fault and not theirs. The reason they did that was you entered into a contract with them and they were honoring their part of it. Now if they would've just said "sorry, deal with it", they wouldn't be honoring their part of the contract, which would've broken it and allowed you to exit the contract without any penalties.

What you are planning to do is breaking the contract, and you act like you shouldn't have to accept any penalties. This is not me acting like a desparate Verizon worker, this is me stating what's fair and legal. And, as I said earlier, people doing what you're planning to do is alot of the reason we now have higher costs and less upgrade options. Verizon will recover their costs, whether from you in this situation or by passing it on to the rest of us.

When I sign a legal agreement, I do so knowing that I have to uphold my end of it, just like I expect the other party to do the same. If I don't, why should they. So please tell me where I am wrong here.

Oh byers remorse... And are you kidding me really???

Oh god no man... And you don't know half of my back story that is leading to what I am doing

Yes really. Look around at some of the different forums. Once some new device comes out people start looking for a way to ditch their current phone so they can move up to the newer one. About half of the time they are asking for a way to get it done inside their current contract or looking for a way to break their current one so they can go to another carrier and get it. Now I like tech as much as the next person, but if I want to go to a newer phone, I'll use an available upgrade or buy it retail and sell my old one. Verizon owes me nothing more than what was in the contract.

Oh god no man... And you don't know half of my back story that is leading to what I am doing

Ok, so do you have crappy signal with Verizon? Have they overbilled you? So far the only reason you have given is that you have had 4 replacement phones sent to you. You mentioned that you knew a few people at Verizon that could help you with this situation. Usually that means that you're calling in a favor to get something done that Verizon would not do normally. My last post simply stated the facts of the contract that everyone agrees to when they enter into service with Verizon, or any carrier for that matter.

I also said that if they were not honoring their end of the contract, that you are fully within your rights to leave without fear of penalties. That can include failure to honor warranty on your phone, not being able to provide you adequate cellular service, or billing you more than what was agreed to in the contract. But again the only thing you have brought up is having to have your phone replaced multiple times. If you only give me half of the story, that is all I have to go by to make a conclusion.

But at this juncture it seems pointless to argue with you further. You may be in the right, or the wrong. As you say I don't know without all the facts. The reason I have continued to this point is a selfish one. There are plenty of people who try to get more than what is due them. We all know if a wireless carrier get's cheated, they will get their money back somehow, usually by passing it on to their other customers. I am not saying this is your situation, but when poeple do this, it angers me since it means me paying more down the road. I hope you can understand that, as it affects you and every other wireless customer as well.

If you are in the wrong, all I have to say is thanks for the higher bill. But if you are in the right, I apologize for inferring that you weren't.

Yes, sorry I responded before I read all the posts below. I can't believe no one else seems to care or notice this. Am I the only one who likes to be able to glance over at the phone and see if I missed anything without having to actually pick it up.

You should complain to Verizon. If enough end users give them this kind of feedback, they will pass it along to the handset manufacturers.

I've used every single phone I've ever had like this. I'm not only dumbfounded but the lack of this feature but also that I'm one of a handful of people that seem to care. I feel like I'm in the loony bin or something. Wow!

Relax, you are obsessing..it's only a phone.

If you had read the post I was responding to, the poster said they were against bloatware because it was free advertising. Which is the same purpose a Ford emblem serves when you drive around displaying it. Now take your condesending "now pay attention.carefully" and go back and read.

my old Blackberry had multicolored LED that could be fully customized with apps.

my old Blackberry had the ability to take a screenshot without rooting it and while not connected to a PC, with just an option from the main menu in any app.

my old Blackberry didnt turn every email you've ever sent into a Contact.

my old Blackberry didnt let me to download crappy apps created by 12 year olds or hackers.

dont get me wrong, the DInc2 is awesome and I love it... but its the little things that make me frustrated. there were a few basic things that my EnV did that I needed to DL a bunch of apps on my Blackberry to do. it was frustrating.
