DO NOT buy the hard case from ATT

First of all it makes it hard to open and close the usb door, second it is hard to take off if you wanna access your SD card or battery, and finally but worst of all I got one scratch and a nick on the back from it (however both are almost invisible, so I'm not that angry about it). Just a heads up.

Which hard-case are you talking about? If it's the body glove (the only one I saw when I was there), mine works fine, no scratches, and the charging cable door opens easily enough.

That's the body glove, it's a rubber case. I'm talking about a hard plastic one
Incipio Clear Slider Case.

I second that! I got mine off by using, no joke, my hands and my feet. I got scratches on the top center by the camera, not to bad but that's what I was trying to prevent.

I took it into AT&T today with my receipt and they let me return it and get the bodyglove one, and I got $5 back.

Don't Buy it.

i agree too..

that damn clear case was a "you know what" to take off..

i felt bad for my captivate..

but i love my body glove case...looks and feels great in my hand!

Yeah my scratch is by the bottom sliding door.

here here. the hard clear case blows. I'll be returning mine ASAP. Good to know the body glove case is well received.

I had this happen to my old Samsung Jack, since then, I've sworn against hard cases...

Yea, the clear plastic case has to be the biggest pain in my butt lol.... They were out of the body glove so had to get this one. Def hoping someone makes some soon for this phone. I def think it is getting the attention now to have them made.

I work at an at&t store and I also put one of those damn hard cases on my captivate. Didn't like the feel and once I tried to take it off, it took me about 30 minutes because the thing was like stuck on there. Worst Case Ever! I even tell everyone buying a captivate the same thing.

Looked at them and rejected the hard, would have liked an otter, but picked up the body glove and it's better than I thought. Great feel.

I am also very pleased with the body glove. It fits very well and is tacky enough to make it easy to grip and so as to not slide around and on surfaces but also smooth enough to not have your pocket come inside out when taking it out of your....pocket.

Another hard case to body glove convert here. After hearing stories of scratching, I checked my son's old phone (1 year old LG Xenon kept inside a hard case) against mine same model, but kept without a case. His phone body was scratched up pretty bad, but mine looked like it just rolled out of the factory. So I took the incipio case off (a monumentally difficult task), and swapped it out for the body glove (took a little persuasion, because I had thrown away all the packaging). The moment I put the body glove on the phone, I realized how much more superior it was. It is far lighter and thinner, lets me keep a better grip on the phone, looks better, allows me to slide the micro USB slot door closed, and can be taken off in seconds if I ever need access to the battery compartment. What is there to complain? I don't know about impact protection superiority, and I hope I never find that out first hand.

I have the hard, and remember it being almost impossible to remove, but didn't notice any scratches. I took it off this morning after reading this thread (with some major effort) and sure enough, scratches on the top and bottom of the phone.

I'm actually really pissed! I got the case to protect my phone from cosmetic issues, and instead it creates them! I haven't had the phone 2 wks yet and am going to ask for a replacement for both the phone and a switch to the other case. Will this be an issue for the ATT guys? I'm mad to the point I'll return the phone and eat the restocking fee if they won't take it.

Does someone have a picture of the body glove case or a part # so I can find a cheaper place to buy it? How much does it cost at AT&T store?

Or what's the best soft shell case to get and what's the best screen protector? I don't want to spend much more than $30.

The body glove is $24.99 at ATT before tax.
