Root Do NOT delete MetroWeb OR MyMetro

I uninstalled metro web a couple days ago; on the day we got root on our phones actually.
and my phone is running fine, but should I still be concerned?

I deleted both of them from my Optimus M and Optimus M+ and both phones were fine. With the Optimus M+, once you delete myMetro, you will have an error or force close loop. Just force your phone to turn off my holding down the power button. Once it boots back up, the error goes away.

I haven't deleted them from the Motion 4G, but I don't think I will since you can disable them from the settings menu.

Umm I guess not ur one of the lucky ones lol
But seriously no one should delete these two things you have been warned!

I deleted mymetro. Phone is fine, idk. I have a Theory though, pretty sure I've figured out how the system cross checks for apps being removed that lg doesn't want removed, but I'm not sharing it til I'm positive :-P

If you still want to delete those apps after reading the replies... don't. You never know. I heard people messing up their Optimus' M by doing it, it might as well mess up your phone.

I never had any problems deleting those apps :-)

Without mymetro on stock optimus m, you get internet connection problems.....doesn't happen on custom roms though.

The webrowser is also a cause to the random reboots a lot of the OMs had.....

I got rid of myMetro on my stock Optimus M and I never had internet connection problems.

Strange...I got problems.

optimus m had so many android versions. first one was 2.2 then 2.2.1...2...3. maybe the issue did not occur on some phones.
But I remember a few topics back in days people not having internet because they removed metroweb

They probably fixed it in 2.2.2 so you dont get problems ...I haven't tried on 2.2.2....heck I'm not even running optimus m firmware...I'm running optimus c firmware on my M.

Not sure if it matters, but I disabled them through the system, and used systemcleanup to then remove them. No problems here. Maybe disabling them first makes a difference...

Man.....some people don't read :p

Lol :-D seriously though, it's ok to delete it. I deleted it the same night I rooted (same night the root method was found to work) and my motion has survived tons of reboots. My bricks were of my own doing. ;)

Well it bricks other people....man this phone makes stuff so.confusing.....especially since there are 2 firmware versions out on these phones...

My Motion gives me the option to disable the built in apps, i disabled Metroweb, Appstore, Metro Block It,, i haven't had any problems, when you click on disable you do get this message.."If you disable a built-in app, you cannot see this app in the phone and an unexpected error may occur in other apps".
Well im not sure what they mean by you cannot see this app in the phone cause i can still see it in app info and can still enable it.
Ive got software version MS77010c, is that the same as firmware version?

Disabling is not the same as deleting. Disabling will disable it, whereas deleting will softbrick you...

Yes it's the same as the firmware version.

What they mean by you not being able to see it is you will not be able to see it in the app drawer if you disable it.

The question at hand isn't about disabling it, we know it won't brick the phone if it's disabled or froze. We are just disagreeing on whether or not mymetro is safe to delete. Some people have had issues I guess. Can't see how, might just be "one of those things".
