Do They Still Make T H E S E?

I was browsing "the world-wide-web (Coming Soon To Alpha Centori Sector-8!)", and came across this pic! I faintly remember something like these...they were little black licorice-type gumdrops!

Anybody remember these and are they still around?

Got any products you'd like to know if its still in circulation or want to share a fun memory from "Dusty Days"? Post it. Would be interesting to what's still around!

ROFL Clementine! This is the FIRST time Ive ever thought about that controvercial name! And "Chocolate Babies!...whew! Somebody hepp-me! Havent caught my breath from laughing so hard! Makes me wanna say to the company: "Hey! Why its gotta be a 'black' thang".

I still do not think the name is in any way controversial. They are Black. That is their color. And Crows are black. that is their color. So Black Crows is a good name for the product.

If anything, the maker should be criticized for redundancy.

If they were coconut flavored , Devil shaped and white in color, what would they call them? White Devils perhaps?

As for Chocolate Babies. Hmm... let us see. They are chocolate and they are shaped like babies. What shall we call them. Cocca Brats? No, there must be a name that sums up their advanced feature set. They are chocolate and shaped like babies. Gosh this is a tough call.

I got it, we will call them "Mocha Lasses." Now available in coconut flavors. We call then "White Coccanut Supremacists."

Thank God we no longer use the term many people once applied to Brazil Nuts. If you want to get offended, Google that.

LOL Bob Max and Clementine! You guys! Speaking of Mocha-babies I tried my BEST to see if I knew what you two were talking about and the ONLY candy that llI could think of were the yellow bag of SUGAR BABIES! MMMMM-MMM!

So, finally I clicked the link and was totally wrong! But its funny! I remember biting into a candy like this but NEVER knew what they were! One look at the pic and the FLAVOR came back to me!

I never knew them by their actual or controvercial name reference. To be honest I never knew the shape was a baby! All I remember was, as Woody Harrellson said in Zombieland "Its Not The Taste, Its The Consistency", I always got "chillbumps" or freese-bumps when I bit into this type" of candy!

Candy like these made me literally cold on the hottest summer day! KORN, Candy Pumpkins, there were some "easter" candies made of this "consistency" now Ive learned to be "mellocream?"

They look like little mummies to me. Something Howard Carter found in Egypt.

And consistency is important in food. I love turkey legs because of the consistency. Completely different than white meat.

Because of this thread, I have a hankering for some wax lips. They are still available, I should think.

Speaking of WAX LIPS! Remember the ones with TEETH? I am literallly "tasting" the flavors and smell the "sweetness" while browsing these sites! Hey post pics of YOUR favs!

I cant remember at which point we would break down and chew the HECK out of those wax lips till the flavor was gone! What D I D we ever do with the "by-product"? Swallowed it?

I remember . . . it was when the wax was soft so it did not shatter into a billion little grains. We spit it out, always.

When I used to go to my Grandfather's movie theater I never asked for Chocolate Babies. Ummm. Nope, I did not. I asked for a bag of...well...yeah.

LOL, Clementine! I guess it was just a point in time, and yet, fond memories.. Days when parents, grandfolk and many others were young amd still with us! Days when we had no worries, bills or responsibilities.

Here's a Twitter link. I've seen their site, and some of the stuff was amazing. I hadn't seen Rock Candy in years!

Really? That is one candy that I has always been locally available. I buy the crystals on little swizzle sticks.

Incidentally, there is a brand of whiskey called 'Rock and Rye' that is made by dissolving rock candy in Rye. A waste of good Rye Whiskey if you ask me. Good whiskey must never be defiled with candy.

There was a woman in my home town who came up with these candy sticks, kind of looked like stalactites. She handed them out at Halloween in mason jars and they were so popular Russel Stover bought the recipe but I haven't seen it anywhere since the mid 70's.

I think the term you're looking for is Negro Children....they once used to ask for a box of *N* babies!
