Help Do u leave GPS on?

What do u guys do? Also, is there an option in the settings to turn on WiFi when I get home and turn it off when I leave the house... thus being away from a WiFi connection?

Locale will change your settings based on your location (Locale - Android app on AppBrain). I know there's free alternatives, but I don't know what their names are. :P

I always leave all wireless connections on except bluetooth (since I don't use it). Leaving GPS 'on' isn't bad. It only drains your battery when something is actively using the GPS.

I leave GPS on all the time and I have good battery life. You can see the icon on top of the screen whenever GPS is being used.

I leave it all on. I was getting great battery life before 2.2 using PMF's 1.1 rom and the undvolt kernel, while leaving everything turned on.

I leave it on. It only uses power when an app needs to use it (you'll see the icon in the notification bar alerting you that GPS is active). No need to switch it manually.

Also, there's an app that will put an icon in the notification bar reminding you to turn you wifi off when you leave a wifi network. You still have to manually switch it though.

I have the WiFi, Bluetooth, and gps widgets on one of my home screens. When I am at a spot that has WiFi and am going to use it for a while I manually connect, and when im done, turn it off. Same with gps. Only use it when I use navigation. Turn it on, then turn it off when I'm done. I see no sense in leaving them on if I am not using them.

But if no app is using it then it is off. The only difference is if you turn it off then no apps can use it. If the little GPS icon isn't in the notification bar, it is "off" (aka not drawing power). No need to disable it via the widget as long as you manage your apps properly.
