Do we really need PCs?

My work uses a PC and I have a laptop used for school district board meetings. Other than that, I use either my phone or Galaxy Note 10.1. My PC is gathering dust.

What has that got to do with "Do we really need PCs?" The guy apparently has some legacy machinery that only works with PC control, which is quite common.

What device have you actually got?
If it's a cheapo thing you bought from Shenzhen or Ebay or Walmart...good luck. You want direct and immediate updates for Android, buy a Nexus device.

Thing with some other OS's, you might have to pay money for major updates and new versions, like Windows and Mac OS.

What should it matter what device? Windows machines got updates no matter how cheap they were. I'm not talking about "upgrades" from marketing campaign to marketing campaign.

And I'm not so much of a Google fan that I'd want to finance their phones, although I can't help doing so if I'm buying any Android phone.

mrsmumbles is getting a new LG Optimus F7 for Boost Mobile, purchased from Best Buy if I'm not mistaken

And I had a nightmare while napping yesterday. I dreamed there was a thread here about the battery getting only about 4 hours per charge due to the large bright screen and inadequate memory and people were talking about having to root and flash roms which scares the freak out of me!

But I understand palmtree's point about hardware issues prohibiting upgrading to a new flavor of Android. It was the same with Windows and I wasn't a fan of the 3 OS's I used after 3.1.
