Do you have a tip/trick for ICS? Post it here.

Graphics acceleration completely screws up launcher pro.

If you have an app that isn't working (such as tasker), go into accessibility to see if it needs to be checked.

Launcher Pro works on ICS?

It worked great for me with CM6 / Froyo on my OG Droid, but was terrible with CM7 / Gingerbread.

I really like Launcher Pro Plus with the calendar widget and I'm hoping he'll update it sometime in the next few years.

As everyone know, if you run the 'clock' app from app drawer, it will go into full screen horizonal/ verticle digital clock.

If you touch the screen once, screen will dim with white digital clock but still showing dimmed wallpaper.

If you touch and hold the screen one more time, whole screen turns black and only show blue digital clocks.

Simply hitting the home button will also give you the option of setting the default launcher ;)

Yep, but if yours is anything like mine, it won't actually save until you do it in settings. I set my default launcher probably twelve times via the home button. Worked for the first day or so, but then "un-saved" I guess. So now when I tell people to get Nova, I'll remind them to do it in settings so they avoid that issue. I'm sure it's not happening to every Nova user or it'd be a common complaint, but if it's happens to one, it can happen to another!

OT - how long before everyone says screw Swype and spends the $5.99 on SlideIT? I missed getting in the short time it was available for 4.0, so now I'm stuck using the free SlideIT... it's actually growing on me and making me debate spending the dough. Not sure quite yet..

It'll go to blue from either the regular clock or the dimmed clock. It's just the blue is lighter and darker depending which one you're in. Pretty cool. It won't, however, allow for a screenshot while blue.

Or you can just set it up inside each program, under their settings there is a place for notifications. I like Light Flow since you have all the notifications at your fingertips. Just be sure to shut of the in-app notifications or you will get two sounds.

Where is the in-app notifications?

If you go into the settings on the app you want to turn off the notifications there should be a notifications option...each program is a bit different. Start with the program menu (the three dots) and look for settings.

I'm coming from the EVO 4G to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and one thing I can say about Sprint is that they include visual voice mail which they push out to your phone. A similiar feature at Verizon seems to cost $3.00/month. Ouch!

Outlined in this thread are instructions on how to setup voice mail to make it easier to use by automatically entering your password, but I took it one step further:

1) Click the phone icon and make sure the phone tab is selected, then click the 3-menu dots/Settings/Voicemail settings and click Voicemail number to edit. Enter *86,your password#. Replace "your password" with your actual password and save it. This makes the voicemail notification work properly.

2) The next step is to go into People App and click the single person tab at the top-center. Then click +single person (bottom-center) to create a new contact. Give it the name "Voicemail" and enter the phone number for this contact: *86,your password#. For the contact picture use the attached vm.jpg icon, or assign a picture of your choosing and save the new contact. One way of transferring the attached icon to your phone is with AirDroid which I also found out about in this thread and appreciate very much.

3) Go to the App Drawer and choose the widgets tab and look for "1 x 1 Direct dial" widget. Click and hold and drag it to the screen of your choice. You will be prompted to choose a contact... choose the Voicemail contact you just created. When you're doing this, make sure NOT to choose the "Contact" widget. The Direct dial widget allows Voicemail to be dialed as soon as you click the icon on your desktop.

That's cool. If you lock your phone with the clock on it will still be up when you unlock it. Then you hit the home or back button to get to unlock screen.

here's what i did. working flawlessly. it unlocks almost instantly :)

first set-up is the angle 2 then right after the set-up go to improve face matching then do the angle 1.

now try it and tell me if it works :)

ReadIt Voicemail is an app that will send you an email with both an mp3 of your voicemail as well as a text transcript. It's free from the Market.

How many times does the improve matching function work? Does it just average 2 photos or 10 or what?

Also how do you erase all of them and start over?

I have no idea... I took about 20 of them (rough estimate) and it works flawlessly. Every angle, hat on or off, smiling not smiling, even one with my eyes closed, lol....

Sorry for the question but i could turn out to be a good "tip" if there is a way.

Any way to make the dialer just disappear after a phone call? In stead of having it go to the "recent call" screen?

When i hit end, i want it to go to my home screen (so i don't have to hit back)

There is a free app in the market called "on call end" that will do exactly what you want it to do. Hope this helps.

There is also one called not call log that works really well.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but I remember seeing someone ask how to change the keyboard to smart keyboard (or whatever keyboard you have downloaded)because pressing and holding the ?123 key doesn't work on ICS

All you do is go into settings-language and input and select whatever keyboard you have downloaded.. then go into any messenger you want to bring up the keyboard. Now press and hold the space bar and waa laa, the option to switch to whichever keyboard you want. :)

sorry if everyone knows this already lol
