Do you have a tip/trick for ICS? Post it here.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but I remember seeing someone ask how to change the keyboard to smart keyboard (or whatever keyboard you have downloaded)because pressing and holding the ?123 key doesn't work on ICS

All you do is go into settings-language and input and select whatever keyboard you have downloaded.. then go into any messenger you want to bring up the keyboard. Now press and hold the space bar and waa laa, the option to switch to whichever keyboard you want. :)

sorry if everyone knows this already lol

There is also a short cut to change it when you already have the keyboard in your screen. There should be a keyboard icon in the notification bar, when you press it it will allow you to pick the input method.

Cool new feature.. Copy & paste with a little style.

You can drag text around in any app that has a field that you can type in (Message app, Browser, etc.). I haven't found much use for it yet, but I don't think anyone has mentioned it.

Anyway...

Here's how to do it-

Open up (for example) your Browser and head to google.com. Touch the address bar as if you're going to go to a different website, now type in anything you want. When you're done, touch and hold the text you just typed so that it's highlighted blue. Let go, then *touch and hold* the text and drag it down into the google search bar in the middle of the page. Pretty cool, huh :).

It's universal with all the apps.. not just the browser.

They did that during the announcement but I'll be damned if I can get it to work.

Nope not new but I did get it to work.

Ya hear that xGalaxyNexusx yeah that right buddy I got it to work so now you can kiss my buttocks :D

Haha, lol. Get off of it once and awhile and I might have the chance! I think that's 15 straight hours you've been in here! Lol... it's addicting isn't it? Even when I'm not home I log in to lurk a bit from my phone haha.

Is there any way to get the music you make available offline in gmusic to include the information for the song (artist, title etc..) When i buy a song from the market it makes it available on gmusic. Then when you make it available offline so you can play it on another music player (think poweramp,) it just downloads into the folder on the phone as "mp3". Any way for it to bring the tags along with it?

For music listeners, when in the now playing section, click the menu icon, sound effects, and enable it in the top right. Adjust the equalizer how you want, but highly recommend putting on 3D Sound. Pink Floyd Discovery sounded AMAZING on rock with bass boost all the way up ;)

Ok~ Here's what I'm trying to do. I have the program profile and I'm trying to create a profile for night. I only want the phone to ring...no notifications ~ nothing, just the ringer. I for some reason can't get this to happen. I have the ringer and notification separated and still can't get it. Any suggestions?

Night mode and it's advantages are not available for WVU fans. That's just the way it is.

ReadIt Voicemail is an app that will send you an email with both an mp3 of your voicemail as well as a text transcript. It's free from the Market.

I can't seem to find this, either on my phone or on the web version of the market. Do you have a link or possibly an apk? Thanks. :)

It seems like this thread contains more questions than it does tips. It's got some amazing gems (i.e., copy/paste by dragging). But, the thread's utility is rapidly waning because of the flood of questions and off-topic posts.

Instead of asking a mod to sort through everything and format it just for our benefit, why don't we implement a new formatting schematic?

Questions and off-topic chatter shall be in regular format. Actual tips will be bolded and in blue.

Example:

Is there any way to get the music you make available offline in gmusic to include the information for the song?

Here ya go! I really love it and wouldn't recommend a single other voicemail program over it. It immediately sends missed calls to my email, which I have created a special folder for and then have a link directly to that folder... it's perfect. It has an mp3 of the vmail and a text transcript (if I didn't mention that already?)

+1

I personally enjoy helping people and having some OT chatter, so I would like having a system that allows that to continue, but makes it easier for people to find the actual thread topic related posts. I'm all for it as long as no one (esp the mod) minds.

SInce i am cheap and wont pay for texting (I have a google number for that and use voice to text for free) does anyone know how to disabled the quick responses in phone settings?

You can delete them individually in the phone settings (phone > menu > settings > quick responses), but I'm not sure that that actually disables the quick responses. I think you'll still get the option to quick respond, but it will be blank. Not sure though.
