ReadIt Voicemail is an app that will send you an email with both an mp3 of your voicemail as well as a text transcript. It's free from the Market.
As everyone know, if you run the 'clock' app from app drawer, it will go into full screen horizonal/ verticle digital clock.
If you touch the screen once, screen will dim with white digital clock but still showing dimmed wallpaper.
If you touch and hold the screen one more time, whole screen turns black and only show blue digital clocks.
Got a market link? I can't seem to find it?

Ok..help a mentally challanged Mountaineer find the "night" mode in this program.

OK- I think CM has me spoiled. I am used to being able to change my icons on both my apps and folders. Has anyone found a way to do this in ICS?
Thanks
i think some of the confusion is from what people consider "closed", as well as the android activity lifecycle state (see image below from google/android). It appears to me that if the app has had onstop() previously called it will then call ondestroy(), but it the app is not in the onstop() state it won't affect the app. Ergo the confusion as to whether "close" means stopped or destroyed. If you look at activity | android developers, the only process states that are "killable" are onstop() and ondestroy(). So my guess would be is that this is what the recent app list is looking at in determining what action to take with swiping off the list. (and maybe an important coding note re onstop() vs onpause() for anyone coding apps who want to maintain a persistent state?)
so yes, swiping "closes" an app that has already been stopped and relegated to cache (onstop() state, whose memory would eventually have been claimed when needed by another app), but does not "close" an app that is currently "running" (not stopped). So the recent app list swipe action is dependent upon the app's current state, sometimes "closing" the app and sometimes not, as opposed to being a traditional "task killer". Fair enough?

And after you get to vibrate, push down one more time to enter silent mode. I love this feature.
I went into settings-about phone-update and it just says softwear is up to day even when I select check now. AM I missing something?Anyone on 4.0.1 should probably check for updates manually. I thought the GNex was supposed to be on 4.0.2 right now. Mine is...
One thing I just discovered. If you are in an app(ex: phandroid app) that has the 3 dots for menu options on bottom and you hit the power button to lock the phone(while still in the app), when you hit the power again to turn phone on the 3 dots are still on bottom on the lockscreen so you can open up to the app you just left. Pretty sweat idea.![]()
KeepScreen and Screen timeout I just found and are nice apps for keeping the screen on when you need it for certain apps, like maps and navigation. KeepScreen you can assign specifics for different apps. I couldn't figure out how to keep the screen on for maps! I found the suggestions on another thread.
Here ya go! I really love it and wouldn't recommend a single other voicemail program over it. It immediately sends missed calls to my email, which I have created a special folder for and then have a link directly to that folder... it's perfect. It has an mp3 of the vmail and a text transcript (if I didn't mention that already?)

There is a free app called "equalizer". It has presets, and a graphic equalizer, that work system wide. Makes a huge difference when listening to music. Paid version allows you to save your own presets.
Which works great if your using the music app. However, its useless for pandora, amazon mp3, or any other source of music. This works system wide.
Me tooI got it to work first try![]()
