Do you like having the same OS on all your mobile devices?

Just curious?

I have an original iPod touch that is about 5 years old, an iPad 2, an HP Touchpad, and an HTC EVO 4G. I have an HTC EVO 4G LTE on pre-order and was sort of considering getting an iPhone. The only reason I decided against it is because I do like Android and already have 2 devices that are iOS based. I figured the experience would not be any different from the iPad or the iPod. It is the same reason I haven't tried to hack the HP Touchpad and install Android.

I carry fewer devices now I have a smartphone, and no longer use my ancient iPod. But if I were in the market for a tablet then right now it would be an iPad. I'm quite happy mixing OSes, broadens the experience for me.

OTOH my next phone will be another android. I value flexibility in my primary device ;)

I carry my iPod for music only because I need the battery on my EVO to last as long as possible. Eveyone on my family plan is up for an upgrade and they are all switching to iPhones. They were a bit surprised when I told them I'm sticking with android and that I could get the same experience as them with the two iOS devices I have.

I like having the same OS over all my devices. It creates a much better stream line experience. All my music, books, documents, etc...are sync'ed to all my devices the same way at the same time.

This was one of my concerns, but the only thing that i share between my devices is my google calendar which I've had no problem with. I'm going to see if I can replace my iPod with my new EVO, but that depends on the battery life of the EVO.

You can always get a 2nd or 3rd battery, they are much smaller to carry around then an iPod.

Now that all my devices are on ICS, it's kind of nice having everything basically identical in operation, but I don't see it as a big enough deal that I would never consider another device.

every OS has its goods and bads...
and odd ways of doing things...

- i prefer one OS across, so i dont have to feel the oddness all the time.
- syncing of data
- using of same paid apps

I've mostly bought educational apps for my iPad to help my kids. There aren't too many apps on my phone that I use. Most of the ones I like are free... Shazaam, JEFit, facebook, linkedin, email, google navigation, dolphin browser, and astro.
