When the plumb bob stops working, you've got some serious problems. :D

Here's an old tool that you don't see being used too often these days:

I try to use it, but, not always successful. :D

How about this?

Was told it's been sitting in my attic for 30+ years when I moved into my house last year.

Most definitely can tell it lol.

I doubt these are safe enough for the children of today. How well I remember the lickin I got for burning my name into the side of my dresser with my wood burning iron.

Or melting the nose off of the sister's doll with a magnifying glass.

When things were made for quality and not quantity for big profit? Everything is about profit and not a good quality product, and that sucks!!!!!

There are some cottage industries that still work that way. These people take pride in what they do and how well the products are made.

These "independents" are seen by some larger industries as a threat. If you don't go to a big box store to buy a quilt, or a sweater, or maybe an item made of wood, you are hurting the bigger store by not buying their crap.

Those used to leave so much grinds in your coffee. Now use the Keurig for individual taste, and is fast too.

Those things are sinfully wasteful, but would produce a decent cup if they would let you brew your own fresh ground coffee beans. The vacuum sealed, landfill boosting, Chinese packed (no offense), year-old crap for beans they brew do the engineering of the device no justice.

I apologize, but coffee is no joke.

Near as I know, the only perk to a percolator was the aroma that filled the house in the mornings. I miss that but I certainly don't miss the coffee stuck between my teeth.
