Good afternoon and or evening to everyone,
I am having a rather unusual problem that I can't seem to solve and I was wondering if anyone else had happened to have seen it or heard of a fix.
I have a Canadian Galaxy S3 on Rogers wireless and I got a Samsung OEM desktop dock for Christmas. I also tether my phone on a daily basis and there are times when I restart my phone due to poor network performance. What I found right away is that if I use my dock at all and then restart the phone then I lose the ability to connect it to my computer as a media device or to tether. The phone restarts and I can connect it to charge but that is all that happens. In order to get any connectivity back wia the USB connection I have to start the phone in recovery mode and clear the cache. Once that is done then the phone returns to normal until I again dock it. More recently this is also happening when I dock with my new iBolt car dock.
I tried calling Samsung tech support and they had me turn on USB debugging but it didn't fix anything at all. I am starting to wonder if the phone has a problem as I have not been able to find any problems online that are like this.
