Accessories Dock idea - is it possible?

My incredible has almost become a total replacement for my laptop. I have heard this from a few of my friends that are using android smart phones.

I want a desktop dock that I can put my phone in that will allow my phone to connect to a standard monitor, keyboard, and mouse. My phone will become my desktop when docked.

I know this can be done. What I don't know is if a phone needs to be designed to do this or if we can build a dock to accomplish this?

well it shouldn't be hard because of the placement of the usb port... i can easily imagine a landscape style dock.
