Dock with USB Data Pass-through

Is there a dock for the Bionic that features USB data pass-through? That is, I drop the Bionic on the dock, with the dock plugged into a computer, and it functions the same as having the Bionic plugged directly into the USB port on the computer?

If so, does it fit the Bionic with the TPU case?

Yes, I've tried this with the OEM Standard dock and it does not. I've read about the HD dock, but people were saying that this didn't work, either.

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks,

Mike

There isn't one from Motorola. I had the Droid X dock for my workstation and really wanted the Bionic equivalent. There wasn't one. A dude at my Verizon store insisted that the HD station would work ... it doesn't. I was concerned that it might actually be dangerous to try on my workstation.

There now is a universal station from Motorola that can be adjusted for either my Droid X or Bionic. It can't be used either. (This is the one I was hoping would be released as a workstation accessory.)

I got two Smart Stands from Staples. This was one of those "near the cash register" items. They are a rubbery material and hold either device vertically or horizontally. The one disadvantage (or perhaps advantage) is that with the Smart Stand your device is not forced into the special landscape home screen that is inflicted by the Motorola launcher.

If you use Go Launcher EX you could have the home screen automatically shown to you in landscape when the Bionic is in the horizontal position in the Smart Stand.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm mostly interested in the ability to put the phone on the dock and not having to grab the cord and plug it in, and lift the phone off of the dock without having to pull the cord out. I'm lazy that way.

Not the end of the world, but Motorola's decision-making process in reference to accessories baffles me.

I conjure. I am also baffled. The new HD Universal dock from them is the right direction. I don;t understand why they don't have a PC docking version.
