Help does a 64gb micro sd card work on lg esteem?

does a 64gb micro sd card work on lg esteem? i was looking on amazon and i came up on this i was like WOW a lot of space which i totally need! , i was wondering if anyone has used this for their phone? , i know i seen a 32gig micro sd and it works but i want something thats more BEASTLY lol .. :D

Apparently not, because SD over 32GB use a different format that is not supported by LG Esteem.

SD capacities use different formats:

1. the original, Standard-Capacity (SDSC) format, which supports up to 4GB;

2. the High-Capacity (SDHC) format, which supports up to 32GB;

3. the eXtended-Capacity (SDXC) format, which supports over 32GB to 2TB. 64GB falls into this category.

LG Esteem does not support the SDXC format.
 
i have heard some people say the 64gb card does work. i can not confirm this though as they are to pricey for me to give it a try and find out it does not work.
 
Yes. You need to reformat it to FAT32 first. You can buy them preformatted that way, but you'll need to look to make sure.

good to know thanks..i have the 32 and was looking to switch...did you have to do anything or you just put it in like the 32?
 
You just have to format it once you put it in phone open up sd card and phone storage and hit format. And yes all 64gb are usable actual formatted capacity is just under 60gb
