Does anybody has REALLY tested 720p recording with a CLASS 6 card?

Hi everybody.

Does anybody has REALLY tested 720p recording with some class 6 card?

What frame rate have you achieved?

...or, the rumors are not true? you achieve horrible framerate even with an speedy card?

Thanks in advance.
Sorry my english. :-(

Yes I have tested it
Standard froyo the image was choppy and baggy
Flashed to leedroid and it was improved but still lowish frame rate
I read a workaround and sure enough I get between 22 - 28 fps

Open camera in photo mode and change the ISO to 800. Then go to video and reenable 720p recording
It works

Hi
I have just brought a new Samsung 8gb class 6 card, how do i find out the frame rate that im getting??

Thanks Pete

I have a Samsung 8GB class 4 which when tested shows up as a class 6 - My 720p recordings have a recurring 'freeze' issue whilst filming, it pauses for a fraction of a second then continues, makes it unusable.

Having read some threads on here it seems like the speed of the card is the usual culprit but I'm hesitent to buy a class 6 when this Samsung class 4 is meant to be running at class 6 and still has the problem.

Do you have the freezing issue Peter ?

In my opinion, in short, 720p is pointless!

Yes, you can record in 720p but its very choppy. I have an unlocked unbranded up to date Desire. Once restored to Factory settings, with my Class 6 card (that has been speed tested), the video was just shameless.

It should not have been included in the FroYo update since its pointless. If you really really want 720p recording, I wouldnt suggest relying on this handset. Otherwise this handset is great ! :-)

Hi
No it doesn't appear to freeze up solid if thats what you mean??

But i havent had chance to make a clip and try it on media player to see what FPS im getting.

Pete

Ah k. Mine pauses for a split second then continues, making the recording have a jerk effect every few seconds.

Strangley it doesn't do it every time though - another thing that makes me nervous about shelling out

Well ive just taken a 15 second recording of my swirly screensaver at work and it plays fine on the phone, no Stuttering/Freezes or Jerkyness that i can see.

Pete :D

it depends on the lighting you're recording in.

in fine daylight it looks really good. however, indoor lighting is a mostly miss for as the low(ish) frame rate of the camera is exposed.
