Does anyone else find the volume/power buttons hard to find & press?

How do you feel about the Vibrant's power/volume buttons?

  • They need tactile feedback ... DIY time! (post your idea)

I've had my Vibrant for a week or so, I really like it. However, the volume & power buttons are tiny (!) and seem hard to find. Does anyone else feel this way?

I'm trying to think of ways to make it better. I want to be able to find the buttons by feel, but I always find that I'm pressing just above/below my power button when I think I've got my finger on it.

My first thought - what about a dab of hot glue on the button as a makeshift tactile-feedback bump? Anyone else considering this?

Same goes for the volume. It's hard to know (without sliding my finger up and down the entire thing) if I've got the right side (up or down). I'd love some bumps on that too.

I've never had issues with any of the buttons on my Vibrant, and I'm 6'2", 240lbs, and have big hands. I guess if you're having issues locating them, wait until you've had the device a little longer and it will become more natural. If you're finding the buttons too small, maybe the problem is that you need to hit the gym a little more :) haha.

I've made the occasional mistake of holding the phone upside down. However, the buttons are ok for me. In particular, I love the power button placed on the side, as opposed to other Android phones I've owned.

Just give it time, you will eventually get used to it.

Also, using a silicon case may help, since some cases offer tactile feel to where the buttons are locataed. Check out t-mobile.com, look at assessories, then cases. They have a nice silicone case for like 16 bucks.

Enjoy your new phone, and don't work out your hands, if they get bigger, won't the buttons just feel smaller?

I hate the buttons, they are small and slick. But with the tmobile silicone case on there, the phone is perfect to hold and not slippery. I'd fear for my phone's life if I didn't have that case on there.

Maybe hard to press the wrong phrase... hard to find. I guess I'll see if I get used to it over time, I'm just surprised how there's really not much there to let you know (without looking) if you're on the button and which side (of the volume rocker) you're on.

I've got a bestskinsever skin on it, and I'll probably not use one of those silicone cases. The skin does make it just slightly harder to find the buttons, but my post (and my feelings) were from before the skin.

Thanks for the feedback. If I don't get used to it after a while, I might try to put some bumps on there.
