Does anyone else HATE this phone?

I had specifically in mind the problem spoken of in this post:

Thanks!

Just to add to what 33OD has already said. Most custom ROMs have memory and system management built in which can free up RAM and cut down on memory leaks. As far as running low on actual internal memory, being rooted won't necessarily give you more space but that's why there are scripts for a2sd (apps 2 sd).. Essentially what this does is once a app is downloaded it moves that app to an extention on your SD card. (you'll have to format your card, part being fat32 and the other party being ext-4 or 3.)

This isn't the same as the app2sd that's on non rooted phones, a2sd allows all /data apps to be pushed straight to your SD ext.

I have around 100 apps downloaded and this is my internal memory

I hate to see all the non rooted user having issues but once you root you'll be glad you did.. The Shift is a beast of a phone.

Thank you Crump - you're everywhere, aren't you? :)

My "Manage Apps" screen is showing 396 MB used, 35 MB free. (I've found that I need at least 45 MB free to update any apps.

Did you see my post in "everything root" subforum here? My level of frustration has reached the point where the next day I have a significant amount of free time (rare) and access to a computer I'm about ready to try rooting. Real nervous about it though.

I replied over at the "other" forum ;) if you have questions, your best bet would be to pm me over at xda

Well I have done the latest update on the phone. So I am not sure of my root options now.

I previously tried to whole root thing with this phone and wasted multiple hours and never succeeded. I have done it on two previous phones within 30 minutes. It's really frustrating.

Lol.. not sure if you got a bad phone or what.. but the Shift is a mini beast.

BTW, you can root your Shift
mine is great, don't use the keyboard and I knew I wouldn't,I switched from 3D which has been sitting in drawer for 6 months.sending back to HTC.This phone is a workhorse.I haven't rooted and love it.

You think its a workhorse now wait till you root:D:D:D:D

Had 3 Shifts, that all malfunctioned in some sort of way. Sprint replaced the latest one with an "OG Evo" last month. I really didn't want another Shift anyways.

It's a love/hate relationship. I love the way the phone feels and looks, but this phone has to have the most problems and malfunctions out of any other phone I've had.
