Hello, amk2795. I today bought the wildfire s on virgin mobile too and am loving the phone. I have wifi teather and everything up and running. I have some tutorials going on another thread where im building my Rom And kernel. so far this is what i have, Link2sd for more space, rooted stock rom, s-off bootloader, wifi teather and of course a custom recovery. I can share the link2sd if youd like but s-off and root must be acheived first. link to my origional post of this info is [WIP][KERNEL][ROM] Wildfire S Virgin Mobile USA - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com ill be moving it to androidforums very soon [copy and pasteIt's pretty much perfect so far! It's not my primary phone yet (waiting to Top-Up until my GoPhone balance is out in a few days) but I've been messing around with it all day and it's great! I went back out and bought an 8GB microSD so I could out more music on it. Ordered a case/screen protector off of ebay but it's coming from China so it'll take up to a month unfortunately.

I have rooted it, allready. guide is located here. guarenteed to work, so just let me know if you have any problems [WIP][KERNEL][ROM] Wildfire S Virgin Mobile USA - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.comI just picked up mine as well, got it at BB didnt feel like waiting until RR opened at 5:30 even though they have the cool white one...So far though I like it, comparing this phone to my OPV its just as good and better. The wireless internet it definitely faster since it has wireless N. The notification light makes a WORLD of difference when checking for a text. With the OPV I always had to go up to it turn it on and see if anyone texted me, but not anymore! Camera is better and having a flash is always good especially when you want to use it as a flash light.
The battery is about the same as the OPV maybe even a little better comparing it with both phones having everything turned off even the 3g also with brightness down at its lowest. So far I have had in on one charge for 20 hours with 3 bars of battery life left. Basically been texting all day sending a couple pics and a little internet surfing and talking on the phone.
As far as the OS 2.3 goes I really haven't noticed a difference at all with that. Maybe I just don't know what features it has to offer. It is a little slippery but I already ordered a TPU case from ebay for 4 bucks with three screen protectors! So that will help with the grip and feel of the phone, which it made a HUGE difference when I bought a TPU case for my OPV grip wise that is.
There is a lot of bloat ware on the phone but I am sure someone will come out with a root or way to efficiently delete those apps.
Oh Also anyone know how to change the phone setting so I see all of my contacts first not everyone who is sync up to my facebook account its annoying.
