Does anyone here not have trouble with their s3?

Hey guys, I am really considering making a switch from iPhone to the s3 but when I check this site all I see are people having issues. I really like Android and have used it in the past, and Jelly Bean looks awesome. Anyone care to share good experiences?
 
On sites such as this a lot of people only post when they're having an issue. Not many people would register and post just to say that everything is fine.

I think a good analogy is going to a hospital and then worrying that everyone is sick.

I've had a few niggles with mine but love it for the most part :D
 
Thanks its good to hear. I really like the size and overall shape of the s3, android is going to be a bit of a learning curve for me but Jelly Bean looks really awesome so I am very tempted. I have a macbook pro and an iPad how will the s3 work with these?
 
You will find forums section like this on all the phone models. Remember, forums are where people go when they have problems. So, it's not uncommon for a forum to be filled with issues people are having.

That said, I have had my phone for 1 week now. I have no regrets. Coming from an HTC phone this is taking some getting use to with the different UI. Overall the performance is fantastic. I can get a full day out of the battery with moderate usage. Browsing the web on 4G is a breeze.

Despite what I've read from other people here I like the Kies and Kies Air software. I'm finding it very useful for syncing my calendar, contacts, and music.
 
Seconding the hospital analogy. I've had mine for a couple months and so far it is the best phone I've had (previously coming from the iPhone 3G and the HTC Evo 4G). I read a lot of reviews and haunted some forums before getting the S3 and it seemed like most people had a favorable response to the S3.

People come here for technical help, etc. so yeah you'll see issues. Check the Apple forums...full of issues too. I for one never had a problem with my S3.
Also, how exactly do you expect the S3 to "work" with Apple products? They won't make out and have babies thats for sure. Android and Apple products are different and the S3 is a powerhouse and unique. To transfer your iTunes music library...you can either invest in an ipod or...upload your entire music library to Dropbox...insert a microSD card into your S3 and download your entire music library from db onto your SD card. Dropbox > iCloud. Dropbox works on every single device known to man. As much as I love apple products the iphone can get boring...
 
I'm coming from a Jailbroken iPhone 4 and I love the S3 and the freedom. I would say rooting the S3 and getting rooted apps solved pretty much most of the software issues I was having with the S3. You will have to tweak the S3 if you want to optimize it's functions and better battery life. When my S3 was stock, it would only last me maybe 12 hours, now I can go a day and a half before charge. If only the screen could go brighter under direct sun light, then it will be perfect.
 
Lots of people on here like myself don't have any problems with the phone but we are looking for different apps and tips and tricks to get the most out of the phone. Android has so much depth to it...
 
As others have said a lot of people post here with issues & seek advice, luckily they get the advice they need most of the time & are very happy :)

Best phone I've ever had (coming from a Desire HD which was bloody good apart from the battery) Just found a weather widget to suit my needs thanks to here too :D
 
I'm an iPhone 4 convert (got sick of waiting for iPhone 5 and drooling over all the features Android ICS already had). I also have a MacBook Pro and have owned every iteration of iPad released. I have had no problems moving my movies and music onto my SGS3 through OS X. Android File Transfer (free download for OS X) is super easy to use and works great.

I still use iTunes to manage my music, but export the playlists to copy to the SGS3 so I use the S3 as my running companion.

There's a bit of learning curve to Android, and I had to find apps or widgets to do some things that iOS handled natively (eg multi-speed audiobooks via Presto, podcast management via Doggcatcher) but I don't see going back to iOS for my smartphone again.

I still use my iPad daily and love the simplicity and quality of the apps, but my SGS3 has become my go-to device for nearly everything mobile now.

Most forums tend to have a negative slant because users visit them mainly when they have issues. I have no problems interacting between iOS and Android on a daily basis, but it took some work and apps (eg Evernote, Springpad, Dropbox) to make it happen. Good luck!
 
I have had my S3 since July 10th and have had NO issues at all, my S3 is without question the best smartphone I have ever owned. in fact many of my friends are now S3 owners coming from both iOS and other Android devices. Mine is the Blue 32Gb on big red (vzw)
 
The S3 is a fine phone...some peoples experience will vary, and honestly that's just a Samsung thing. When I say vary I mean towards things that have to do with build quality...Some will say their volume rockers are loose, some will say they are tight, the same goes for the power button. Honestly that's all I can really gripe about with this phone as far as build quality. Diving into the phone you'll find the call volume is absolutely superb ...Very loud and clear when talking on the phone, the loud speaker is also superb when listening to music or watching a video...basically blows beats away on the One X. The screen is beautiful and as a whole the phone just flies when doing any task whatsoever...Battery life is great also, As of now I'm averaging around 15 hours with some pretty good use, just a side note.. my first one was terrible on battery life, this is my replacement unit I'm using and its one if the best phones I've used as far as battery life goes.

If there is one thing I can recommend its to change the stock keyboard as soon as you take it out of the box, the stock one is a horror show! Give Perfect keyboard a shot, it even has an iPhone keyboard skin in the paid version. Good luck ...

I'm using the Swiftkey 3 keyboard and really like it. Supposedly the Jelly bean keyboard is much improved. So hopefully when we get JellyBean in a few more weeks we shall see how much better.
 
i've had 0 problems with my SGS3.
battery is fine (just got 21 hours out of it, low usage though), screen is great, no system crash issues, no memory issues.. nothing basically other than app issues but that's not the phone itself. it's the apps.

I'm really diggin Perfect Keyboard. I toggle back and fourth between the ICS keyboard and the iphone keyboard...lightning fast, and the spell corrections are the best I've seen so far on a 3rd party keyboard.
 
I had 3 Motorola smartphones before this one and the S3 is head and shoulders above anything I've had before. I don't have any complaints at all.

Also, just got my kids a Nexus 7 and judging by that, Jelly Bean is only going to make this phone even better!
 
I don't have problems either. I think that when you get a new phone, there are little tricks and learning curves no matter how wonderful the new phone is. There are certain things I was used to on my old HTC - extra steps I used to have to take to do things. Now they are easier on my S3 but I have to remember that it is easier now. :o I am getting used to the phone more and more and really like it.

which method did u use to root it? flashing a custom rom image? idk why, but i dont really like the idea of flashing on the s3 with CWM..i just want a stock rooted phone

have u tried the JB keyboard? its a direct port of the actual JB keyboard...fantastic keyboard
 
i've owned my s3 for about 3 weeks, i have to say no problems. whatever small issues i did have, i was able to solve with the help of fellow members on here.

Also in all honesty the only people complaining about the s3 were former iphone users whom were nitpicking about the smallest little differences.

I have had my Galaxy S3 Pebble Blue (i747) on AT&T for 2 months now. I purchased mine with a 2 year contract at an AT&T store in Warner Robins, Ga. I have had none of the issues that I see on here. As with anything else that is mass produced for not just several different markets, but also for numerous carriers in those markets, there will always be some minor issues (lemons).
