Help Does anyone use AVG on their S3?

Yesterday I got so fed up with Play Store telling me their are updates to my apps 3x per day that I disabled the Google app update notifications.

Now I have another really annoying daily popup from AVG the says "You are fully protected" Is there any way to disable AVG messages in the notification bar?

I don't need to be told every day that my phone is protected. Like no shit Sherlock, thats why I downloaded it and thats why it is listed under running processes.

[sarcasm] I not sure [/sarcasm] but I would think if its under running process my phone is OBVIOUSLY protected & don't need the notifications to tell me something that I already know but cannot seem to find way to disable AVG "your are fully protected" message in the status bar. The only time AVG should appear in the notification is if there is a problem. Not just to tell me everything is fine and give me another pain in the ass notification I have to clear off 3x per day.

Never used an AV app in 3 years of Android. Every user is different though I guess, I know what I'm putting on my phone and I don't click any dodgy links!

I have no advice on AVG but I have Bitdefender's free AV utility on my phone and it hasn't popped up any auto-annoying messages, and it's relatively light on background resource usage. But either one, I think there's still a consensus that AV apps for Android have something of a 'snake-oil' reputation and their actual effectiveness is only marginal.

Go to AVG in Settings, Applications, and uncheck "notifications" (or just hit uninstall tbh)
