Help Does everybody's Milestone do this...

I have went under settings for the screen and keyboard, put the screen to go to standby after 30 secs, but sometimes after typing a SMS message it would go blank in 5-10 secs and lock.

everytime I want to turn it on from standby mode I have to press the power key on top, is there a way to make it work if I was just to touch the screen for it to come on?


and also, is it true to charge the battery for 24hrs before the 1st use of the phone?

No need to charge it for 24hrs, it has a Li-Ion battery, not NiMh.

It's a natural protection of the phone to lock fast to avoid the accidental misstouch of the screen... you have to set your lock time to 1 or better 2 minutes to have a comeback to the homescreen without lock... or use the Keepscreen app

... and add the applications you want to have it there with no auto-lock on the screen.
