Root does everything work on GV 1.4 ?

Oh man. Now I'll have to update and re-arrange my homescreens... again! :rolleyes:

Anyway, here is the changelog:

Latest CM7 commits
Kernel update to 37.3
Update wifi driver (should fix wifi sleep bug)
pptp working with new .37 drivers

i just flash it over and everything is where it was, the only things i have to change is the market and my circles mod. and maybe the kernel, not updated since ive updated the kernel so im not sure about that.

do you do a full wipe when you update?
 
yes youll have to reflash the kernel. Kernels come with rom as standard, therefore it is written to /system. when you flash a rom, /system is formated and completely overwritten so 3rd party kernels must be reflashed.

If you're s-off and you use adfree, youll have to update the hosts file too.

Updated about 6 hours ago, but not had chance to really dig deep or exercise everything. Seems to be an "under the hood" release rather than obvious new features. WiFi sleep bug fix may be welcome.

But I've not noticed any problems so far. And at the risk of tempting fate, I've not had WidgetLocker lose all of its widgets after a reboot, though I have only rebooted a couple of times since updating, so there's time for that one to reappear (the theme chooser/WL incompatibility).
 
If you dont wipe (which you dont need to when you flash the newest version of the same rom) then everything remains exactly as was, just the rom version changes.

Any apps and settings you make in the rom are saved to the /data partition so if you dont wipe data, nothing needs re-arranging.

But if you are just updating you flash over without a wipe, so none of that stuff changes.

Honestly, I've not wiped since I switched permanently (around GV 0.8 I think), and Dan didn't even wipe from DeFroST.
 
Thanks. I'll try the update without a wipe.

WiFi sleep fix is needed. And I thought why does my phone sometimes delay connecting to my home network in GV 1.4.

If ya'll using Titanium Backup it saves your desktop prefs.
 
GPS stopped working for me when I moved onto 1.4 so i'm upgrading to 1.5 now in the hope it fixes the problem.
 
Ok, just updated and here's a weird on. On my lock screen it saysread user guide or contact customer care? WTF is that all about?
