Root does factory data reset affect a ROM

Running Liquid Smooth ROM and want to clear my phone to pass it along to my wife.
If I do it with a factory reset does it affect the ROM??

I believe so... might want to wait for someone else to chime in.

i think you would have to wipe everything and then reflash rom and boot up as a "new phone". could be totally wrong. cant go wrong doing it this way tho.

That's what I was thinking, I may just reflash the ROM to reset everything, but leave the SD card alone. Not sure yet.

A factory reset does not change your ROM, flashing a new ROM does not erase your data. You'd have to do a factory reset AND flash another ROM (if you wanted to change it).

sounds like he can just wipe dta/factory reset and wipe others as well? reboot?

learn somethin new everyday
 
Yes either use the option inside the OS or boot into recovery and wipe /data there. It will be like a clean install of the rom at that point.
 
Factory data reset
I get errorso, The device enter fastboot mode please connect to pc or reset the device waiting
