Does haptic feedback (vibrate) and sound on the keyboard. really effect the battery life?

I have the feedback off because of typing lag, but like having the sound on.

thanks

I'd say yes. You are making the phone do something that requires power. Also, on Verizon's smartphone support site for the Eris, they say one way to save battery is to use audio alerts rather than vibration, as vibration takes more power. Since haptic feedback is just a fancy name for vibration, I'd say avoiding it will definitely save some battery life.

thanks Makes sense, I have left the sound on, kind of like that.
I did notice that I can type faster with feedback off.
