Does Iphone or Windows 7 phones have random shut downs ?

I have not owned an Iphone or windows phone but those that have do they shut down sometimes like Android phones do ? For the most part my phones (Desire and now GS2) have been really good and love them but was wondering what glitches Iphone has ?

I know that iPhone has some connectivity issues such as the well known hand position one and another I recall that would bring up a message saying that it cannot find the network and must be returned to Apple. I'm not sure on shut downs however. I've never had a random shut down on any of my Android phones.

Dont know about wp7, but people i know with iphones (various models over the years, right up to the 4s) have suffered occasional lockups requiring complete reboot (i.e. holding the button for a while until phone switches off). Not regularly enough to be annoying, but the iphone is definitely no more bulletproof than android.

My arc has occasional random shutdowns and restarts. Again, this is pretty rare (only noticed it a couple of times in 6 months).

Long and short of it is: these are extremely complex devices with OSs developed on very tight development schedules, running a huge variety of 3rd party apps. There are always going to be glitches, no matter who builds them.

I can attest to the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad lock-ups. Models with less than 512MB RAM are also more prone to forced close/app crashes.

WP7 appears to be more stable than either Android or iOS. Then again perhaps the reason why I've never had a crash on my lg quantum is because I don't use it much.

None of these OS's are bulletproof.
