Does rooting the phone cause damage ROM in the long term?

Does rooting the phone cause damage ROM in the long term?

is it possible to reverse root to default setting?

As EarlyMon says, not much to worry about wrt "damage" when rooting. Unless of course you do something that could damage the hardware, such as get mad and throw the device down really hard onto a concrete sidewalk. ;)

The most issues being dealt with in rooting forums have to do with app/widget/kernel compatibility with needed services, those services sometimes being forced to perpetually restart after vital apk or widget files being removed, etc. Resource drain, slow downs, freeze-ups, no boot up, error messages, etc.

Following the ROM dev's instructions, AFTER reading through at least one forum thread about the experiences of other users can go a long way in bringing joy to rooting your device. Just like anything else new: learn from the experienced ones. ;)
