Does temperature affect the Note 3?

It has been around freezing for a month here in Cincinnati and I have been using my phone a decent bit outside and haven't really seen any effect on the battery life when it's really cold out.

Next week I start a project on my jobsite so we can see how that effects it as well.

While -20C is the minimum discharge temperature for LiIon batteries, the power you get at that temperature isn't the same as you get at room temperature.

An old trick is a bag worn over the shoulder, with the bag under the armpit. Fabric thin enough that the phone is at about body temperature. (Worn under any cold-weather gear - coats, parkas, etc. - if course). You'll feel it ring, and you can arrange your clothing so it's easy to get to, but the battery will be working at a good temperature (for the battery).

Too much use at -20C will shorten the total lifespan. Much use at much below -20C will pretty much be the end of the lifespan.

dontpanicbobby, I don't know if leather gloves over wool gloves will work on the phone screen, but anything that keeps a layer of dead air between your skin and the world (and that system does) will work to keep your hands warmer. (But let's not get ridiculous - a pair of leather gloves over a pair of wool gloves in some parts of the Antarctic at some times of year would be good for about 30 seconds.)

I'm also thinking about going to Stockholm for New Years. I live in Turku (southwest coast of Finland) so I can just go from Turku to Stockholm on a ship.

New Year's fireworks on the waterfront by the old town, Gamia Stan and on Skansen island in Stockholm were great!

Back on thread - still going North and still NO SNOW here in Sweden. My Note 3 is performing well and proving very useful.
