Hi guys, been a long time since I've been on here. My Captivate has been a really nice phone other than signal strength. I live in rural country and have always been on the edge of signals, one reason why I switched to ATT four years ago. I am eligible for a new upgrade and have been looking at the newer phones but after grilling all the places about phone strength I'm not confident any of them know what they are talking about. I received the text from ATT the other day about Gingerbread and wondered if it would improve my signal strength. I own my own business and I'm constantly dropping calls at home and it just infuriates me. I'm not a super tech guy and I'm scared to be honest with you about ruining this phone. I have read some magazines about all the stuff that I can do by rooting and I want to try to do it but, I am nervous about it. I read something very vague about my phones radio that could be improved to better my signal strength. Any truth to that? Can anyone shed some light on my problem?
I have Kies Mini on my computer from the Froyo upgrade and I have transferred things like music and pictures to my phone but I'm not overly confident about tech stuff although I would like to be.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.
