Help Does the Bionic

Have a switch or setting for 3 or 4G? Mine hasn't arrived yet and I found out I have "extended coverage" (3G) where I live...and 3 blocks down the street according to their map, however accurate, is 4G! I've heard people talkng of the phone constantly switchng back and forth draining the battery fast. I also heard that a low 4G may not be as fast as my older 3G Dinc!

Thanks in advance!

My observation is that even a weak 4G signal is better than a good 3G signal. The switching back and forth issue has, for the most part, been resolved through updates. Your phone will automatically switch between 3G and 4G when the signal strength calls for it. The battery has never been one of the strong points of the Bionic. I feel lucky that I can get a full day out of the standard battery (now.) When I first got it, that wasn't the case. The extended battery is definitely something that I would look into if you are just getting your phone (assuming you will be keeping it a while.)

Yes, it technically does. In ICS it it a little difficult to get to and not at all user friendly but there are apps that make it much easier.

The switching issue, (ie. the phone not dropping data while switching) has gotten much better with the updates but the process of switching back and forth between 3G/4G still does chew up the battery big time. At home I have solid 4G and under normal use on the weekends, I'll be at about 50% on extended battery by the end of the day. At work where I drop 4G at various places throughout the day, under normal use on extended battery I'll be at 20% by the end of the day.
