Does this phone have T9 keypad?

Newbie
Considering buying the Xperia X8, one of last few phones I have narrowed it down too However, the keypad puts me off, I don't like the look of a touch screen QWERTY pad.

Does the phone have a T9 keypad option, (I think it is T9) where you just have the 1-9 keys, with ABC etc on 2, DEF on 3 etc. And if so, is it predictive text?

It does not, however you could download a keyboard with such features from the android market.
 
Go to the market and type in "T9 Keyboard" to see if you can find one that you like.

One thing though T9 was a really cool feature but it is not so common now, you may not be used to the qwerty keyboard but I'm sure that if you just give it a chance you might get used to it and realized it is really easy to use. One more thing, there is a type of keyboard called "Swype" that has a feature where you can use a "Swipe Gesture" around the letters to quickly type a word, basically this feature is like T9 in a way. You could also try that to see if you like it.
