Root Does this ROM exist?

So all being well my Galaxy S3 should arrive today

My sister's going to be taking the Desire off my hands and ideally I'm looking for a rom that is close to the official GB release by HTC with the app2sd+ implementation that's in the Mildwild roms.

Anyone know of one that exists?

You could install a init.d enabled rooted stock gingerbread ROM (such as Teppic74's one) and then add the DarkTremor a2sd script (there's a copy in the toolbox thread).

I don't know what a2sd script is in MildWild CM7 - MildWild Oxygen uses one based on the Oxygen a2sd - but DarkTremor works just fine, so I think that would get you what you are asking for.

Sorry, yes it is the Oxygen based one I'm looking at. Does the new version of Darktremor have that nice option to manually move selected apps to sd-ext?

The reason I'm looking at it is that I've found that to be the most stable version, as you can choose to move some problematic apps back onto the internal memory if required.

I don't know about the latest DarkTremor - the last time I looked there was a version that had been in beta forever, but I can't remember what functions it had.

Most a2sd scripts don't have the function you describe. You can manually move apps to sd Google style, or have them on ext. Have to say though that in the year or so I used an ext partition I never met an app that had problems with it.

I'm looking to manually move app 2 sd-ext though. Here's a screenshot from Mildwild to try and explain what I mean:

That's going to need more than just an a2sd script - looks like the system menu has been modified. Don't know what other ROMs have that.
