Does turning on "Use wireless networks" use data? Is it okay if I have wifi?

Hi,

I just installed the "find my friends" app and it says I need to turn on gps and the use wireless networks thing on.
I am connected to wifi and the gps is on. But I don't have any data and I don't want any data charages, so is it okay to turn on "use wireless networks"? Will doing so use data?

As long as your connected to Wi-Fi, it won't use your data connection
