Help Does video stutter for you?

Hi guys,

Still loving the phone but I notice video tends to stutter here and there. Whether I'm watching off internal storage, SD card, or web it will kind of glitch a bit.

Any ideas?

No, I haven't noticed it on YouTube. I've only downloaded movies to my M7. Didn't notice a problem on it or watching HBO GO on my M8.

My girl friend has this issue on her m7. Videos she takes will sometimes lag and everything becomes out of sync. I haven't tested it much on the M8. If videos lag while streaming it is probably your internet.

There are a lot of variables here. What network are you on when watching YouTube? (WiFi, 3G, LTE) Are you using the YouTube App or Mobile Webpage or some 3rd party player? For movies you moved to your SD card what type of files are they? (MKV, AVI, MP4, etc) What Video Player are you using? What type of SD card have you installed? Was it formatted before you put it into the M8?

My YouTube no longer stutters! I went from Dalvik to Art and since then I haven't had the issue. Maybe worth a try for people with comparable problems.

Forgive me: what's Dalvik to art?

Art is an experimental runtime that will likely replace the current dalvik runtime in some future release of android.

As of right now its still in beta and you can see incompatibilities with some apps. If its available for your device, you'll find in in the developer options, which are hidden by default and revealed by going to settings>about and tapping the build number ~5 times

Dalvik hasn't caused any issues... yet. Fingers crossed ;-)
My phone also seems faster and smoother. And, to stay on topic, no more video stutters on YouTube.
