Help Does your power button make a click noise?

Nexus808

Newbie
I ordered 2 16gb N7 from the Play Store that arrived yesterday. The power button on one unit makes a quite noticeable click noise when I press it and the other does not. The one that clicks also feels a little more bouncy and a little less flush than the other. The one that doesn't click seems to work fine and it is responsive but it just doesn't feel the same. Any other N7's out there with power buttons that don't make a click sound?

I haven't thought about until you posted. Mine makes a very soft click sound that I hardly notice. On the one that isn't clicking, do you have any problems with the edge of the screen being higher?

The screen appears to be equal on all edges but the top portion of the power button looks pushed in.

You can give this a shot if you would like - tightening down the screws seems to get rid of a lot of creaks and noises people are experiencing.

How to: Fix Screen Lifting Issue on the Nexus 7

I have two Nexus 7's as well. One that I bought open box and plan to return because I could not get the 25$ credit... The new Nexus 7 I bought to replace the open box one has a 3-10x (like about as loud as a space bar) louder click when pushing the power button. Its loud enough people in the office can hear me turning on and off the device by the power button click. I don't want to return my new unit just because the power button is noisy but yes some Nexus 7's power buttons defiantly sound different.

The only fix I have so far is pushing it and holding it down and releasing it slowly. I can only assume over time it will start to wear out and click less loudly.
