i cant believe how nice the dolby addition to the stock music player sounds. i ditched poweramp for it. i must admit im very impressed with how well it sounds.

what u guys think?

ONLY WORKS WITH EXTERNAL/BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS

Apparently AOL is teaming up with a company called "Cellufun" to create an ad-supported community mobile gaming channel. Sounds interesting.

Apparently, the games will be tested popular titles that have proven themselves on mobile phones already.

Take a look at http://wap.aol.com/games where you can currently play mobile games courtesy of AOL. Eh... after seeing Duke Nukem on an Android Phone I'm not sure how excited this makes me.

the connect's dolby was specifically engineered for it. beats is specifically engineered for a beats device
i think the dolby would sound better and im sure u can flash beats

How did you add that dolby addition anyway?

Ive flashed beat audio for my samsung Admire threw CWM, Will I be able to use it on the Connect?

That beats.zip is bull there was a thread on this in the esteem forum and it turned out to be fake.

Oh and none of these eqs are engineered for a device. It's just a sound enhancer that the audio is processed through.
But Dolby does sound awesome :)

if you put dolby on the esteem it wouldnt sound the same as it does on the connect

it is definitely engineered in sync with the hardware and the kernel

if its just a software thing dolby would sell it as an app

yea im just saying that it wouldnt be the same effect on different devices. it may be the same hardware with lg but you get the idea

It would if you integrated the correct libs and framework files ;) its been ported systemwide to plenty of devices

i doubt it would have the same effect

Youre right it'd have better effects since it would be system wide and also have both a mode for headphones and speaker. If you know what you are doing (not saying I can port this) Dolby can be integrated into a devices Rom. These things aren't sent to Dolby so they can build an entire sound enhancer for just one device. Instead manufacturers use Dolby code and integrate it into their devices. The world doesn't revolve around the connect :p
And it is absolutely in every shape and form a software thing, same goes for beats. There's no magic Dr. Dre chip inside that drops the beat with exta pizzaz.

i think we shud just agree to disagree unless u can bring me solid facts :) until then i will have to continue to believe it is specificalky engineered for optimal performance on specific audio hardware whether it b esteem connect or beats phones

Not the best article but it gets the point across. If beats isn't only software then why can I flash sensation xe roms onto my original HTC sensation 4g with absolutely no modification? HTC released the xe months after the original sensation. All it was, was a 300mhZ overclock, red accents, larger battery, and beats audio. These 2 phones are identical internally yet only one is supposed to have beats.
I'll look into Dolby and find more info on beats later :)

once again like i said it works good with htc audio hardware just like dolby is engineered for lg hardware

The thing that you guys have to remember is that dolby is something that's literally a process. It's not like beats from what I understand. Dolby requires it's own chip, therefor any device that HAS that chip will be able to handle the dolby mobile framework, and libs and will process it exactly the same provided the files are the same between the two devices. The only time that the effects filters would change is if they were coded to, or if the hardware processor for dolby was different.
