Help dolphin browser wont open youtube app

When I click a youtube link from within Dolphin Browser (from reddit, for instance) it goes straight to the mobile youtube site to load the video. It does not bring up the screen asking which program I want to use (I want to use the youtube app to open youtube links). I checked manage applications and cleared defaults for youtube and dolphin and it still won't give me an option to launch the youtube app from a youtube link. Any ideas?

The only way I can get it to do what you're talking about is to press and hold the link then select "Open in new tab". I do wish I could just set it to open the YouTube like it used to.

Yea...it is extremely frustrating...especially since once it goes to the mobile youtube site and I hit the back button on my phone, it just refreshes the mobile youtube site.....wish there was a way to fix this.

Really? Long clicking a youtube.com link and choosing open in new tab doesn't open the youtube app for me.

I just emailed their support.

I thought it used to work right.

Also, even if your method does work right, that won't help for redirects from other apps, like if you click a youtube link from in the facebook app.

Here's another thread discussing the same thing.

At the time of my post yes that was how I got it to open the YouTube app. Since Dolphin's latest update it doesn't work. It now only opens in the browser. And worse yet if I click a youtube link (not opening a new tab) to watch a video the Back button does nothing other than reload the youtube page.

Thanks man.
Ive been considering dolphin as my default as it has full screen and slick scrolling but not opening youtube app is a no-no :)

Dolphin support replied.

"Considering some users prefer to open YouTube videos only on Dolphin Browser, and some guys like you prefer to still use YouTube client, we have already added an option "Choose the way to open current page" while long press the address bar to our latest Dolphin Browser v 9.2.0."

Never noticed that was there, but it does seem to work. You still have to go to the youtube page for the video first in Dolphin, but if you long press the address bar and choose that option and then youtube, it'll then play in the youtube app. That should suffice for me.

I wish there was a way to set the default settings to play video in Youtube app. I really hate to watch movies in Dolphin, this really sucks.

You bumped a year old thread without even reading the last post?

I did read the whole thread. Selecting the "long press" option is not a solution for me. But I admit, I did not notice that this thread is so old. Ayway, the problem with YT in Dolphin is still there.
