Don't Understand "My Drive"

I'm trying to use the "my drive" app. I have downloaded the app to my Samsung Galaxy Note. I have put it on the internet and have a shortcut to it. On the web I have uploaded 5 files from my computer which I can see on the web. When I look in the tablet, I see nothing. On the web I'm signed in under my normal email account (not gmail). It said I couldn't do that because I'm also using google as my search engine.
On my tablet I had to download the mydrive app thru google play which is my gmail account. Is this why I can't see my files on the tablet??? If so, how do I correct this??

Ive never used that app but if it works like all other cloud services, as long as you use the same details to log in to it, you should see the same files on pc and tablet

Thanks!! I do think the problem was the use of two different email's. Note I overcame this by sharing to the other email address.
