I just got a new phone and the verizon people activated it and moved my contacts from the old phone. Now I have double and triple contacts showing up.
All are tagged as "backup assistant plus". I am assuming this is a verizon backup "cloud"
I read one way to fix is select a contact that is doubled and hit menu and join.Before i do this and make things worse, I wanted to check with others.
I sync my contacts normally with microsoft exchange (for work contacts) and google for personal contacts. So when adding new contacts that are personal i make sure to tag them as gmail.
I also see this phone allows me to go to a contact and edit to change what account they are associated with, but with over 1000 contacts I am hoping i do not have to do this one by one.
Maybe i could disconnect sync, delete all contacts on phone and then activate sync again??
I am nervous and not really good at the technical side of these phones.
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. Also, please provide step by step if you would so i don't mess things up.
